Now I will explain to you why I will participate in the National Travel and Mobility Manager Convention organized for October 22nd by AITMM , which with considerable efforts has had to adapt to the current situation and will therefore be in a virtual edition. Travel Management in medium-large companies and the desire to carry out this complicated task in the best possible way emerged It gets complicated, if we think about the variables of a trip and the considerable budget allocated by companies for mobility: hence the need to create a real professionalism recognized by the MISE and dedicated to all Travel Managers who instill the same passion of Paul in their work .

But you will think that I am on the opposite side of the barricade since I work for a TMC (Travel Management Company) and therefore there should be a wall between me and those of AITMM, but that is not the case. Apart from the fact that in my life I have never glimpsed an insurmountable obstacle in a wall: little by little, with the right determination, any wall sooner or later gives way and history has taught us that much stronger walls have come down over time.

I can see in the figure of the Travel Manager only an interlocutor with whom to speak on an equal footing, putting him in a position to calmly choose whether the TMC in front of him will respect his service expectations or not. I'm tired of the lowest price competitions where the difference between the various TMCs is represented by the euro difference for the ticket. This approach will only lead to the destruction of the TMCs which will not be led to invest in increasingly advanced services for the benefit of their customers but will remain closed in their old schemes with the lowest fee since the revenues will arrive in some other way. Here we have seen that the issue of revenues that will arrive with Covid has been turned upside down, and all those TMCs that were counting on future earnings are in great difficulty.

The Travel Manager must be trained to understand well what the company he works for really needs and to calmly choose the TMC that can offer that service at the right price.

This is why I will participate in the convention and I hope to learn new things in a growth path , which for a TMC must never stop to ensure that that wall crumbles and a more profitable period of collaboration and consultancy for everyone begins.
